There are three galleries in one of the buildings utilized by the Waimea Arts Council. The Firehouse Gallery is the largest that hold montly shows by members.
The old firehouse that use to hold the fire truck has been transformed by the organization. The building adjacent to the firehouse, now utilized by WAC as an office and for classes was used by the on-call firemen. The building behind the gallery was the fire chief's home. The present Senior Center was formerly the court house. The smaller building to the east of the Senior Center was old the police station and jail.

The Art Council is a 501(c)3 non-profit volunteer organization. Membership is open to all artists and patrons of the arts.
